Dr Jeanne North

Jeanne is a natural fit to the team at Doctors of South Melbourne. Taking an evidence-based approach to medicine, she enjoys the breadth of general practice with particular interests in:

• Men’s health
• Skin health
• Kid’s health
• Chronic and complex health, including geriatric health
• Minor surgical procedures

Jeanne graduated from Medicine at Melbourne University in 2009, after which she worked as a junior doctor in local hospitals before heading to regional Victoria to pursue surgical training.

After a brief hiatus in various rural Australian emergency departments, while simultaneously studying for her Diploma in Child Health through Westmead Hospital, Jeanne decided to return to Melbourne to complete her GP training.

Humbled by the trust patients have in her, Jeanne considers practising medicine an absolute privilege. She respects the honesty people display in their therapeutic relationships with her.

She loves getting to know patients and their personality quirks, adores meeting family and friends, and bends over backwards to improve their health.

When not at work, Jeanne enjoys reading books, playing netball, and spending time with loved ones. She’s especially fond of barracking for the mighty Dees with her niblings.
