Dr Matthew Davies
MBChB, BSc. (Hons), FRACGP, Dip. Child Health
Originally from Cardiff in South Wales, Matthew graduated from medicine at Edinburgh University in Scotland in 2008. He’s since worked in both rural and inner-city settings across the UK and Australia.
After spending much time in emergency departments in Sydney, Matthew moved into general practice in NSW before moving to Melbourne in 2018. As a GP, he applies these emergency skills, and others gained through his broad training, with great success.
Matthew thoroughly enjoys general practice. It allows him to provide continuity of patient care in a fun, communicative and meaningful manner – all within a personalised healthcare setting. His special interests include:
Having an interest in diet and nutrition, Matthew is due to finish his Diploma before undertaking a Masters in the subject. Patients will benefit from his informed nutritional advice, as well as his skills in setting weight loss goals and strategies.
Matthew is also a medical student supervisor as part of the teaching faculty from Monash University. He hopes to inspire others who are considering a career in general practice.
Outside of work, Matthew is likely to be found travelling or enjoying Melbourne’s live music and food scene. He’s always happy to take any suggestions on new places in town.
