Originally from Cardiff in South Wales, Matthew graduated from medicine at Edinburgh University in Scotland in 2008. Since then, he’s worked in busy hospitals in both the UK and Australia.
After spending considerable time in emergency departments in Sydney, Matthew moved into general practice across Newcastle, Sydney and most recently Melbourne. As a GP he applies these emergency skills, and others gained through his broad training, with great success.
Matthew thoroughly enjoys general practice. It allows him to provide continuity of care to his patients in a fun, communicative and meaningful manner – all within a personalised healthcare setting. His special interests include:
Matthew’s also interested in diet and nutrition. He’s due to finish his Diploma before undertaking a Masters in the subject.
Outside of work, Matthew reluctantly entertains the idea of joining the hardcore F45 fitness training challenge. While contemplating this, he’s more likely to be found travelling or enjoying Melbourne’s live music and food scene – to the envy of his Sydneysider friends.
