Dr Sophie Carter
MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, Dip Child Health
Sophie loves helping patients from diverse backgrounds, sexualities and genders. Her special interests include:
Sophie’s formal qualifications are as impressive as her wide-ranging clinical experience.
After graduating from Medicine at Monash University in 2011, she spent four years working with Alfred Health and its affiliated hospitals. It’s here Sophie practised adult internal medicine; the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chronic and short-term conditions mostly seen in adults.
She has also completed a Diploma of Child Health from Sydney University. This extra paediatrics training complements her prior experience treating children and young people.
Additionally, Sophie is skilled in managing the health of people living with HIV and hepatitis B & C. She’s the clinic’s resident HIV s100 prescriber, permitted to prescribe highly specialised HIV medication.
Outside of work, Sophie travels as much as possible, keeps fit and cooks the occasional family feast. She’s also no stranger to getting lost in a good book.
