MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, Dip Child Health
Sophie is a highly knowledgeable GP who enjoys caring for people of all ages and backgrounds. Her special interests include:
Sophie’s formal qualifications are as impressive as her wide-ranging clinical experience.
After graduating from Medicine at Monash University in 2011, Sophie worked with Alfred Health and its affiliated hospitals for four years. Here, she practised adult internal medicine, the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic and short-term conditions primarily seen in adults.
Sophie has also completed a Diploma in Child Health from Sydney University. This extra paediatrics training complements her prior experience treating children and young people.
Sophie is an experienced PrEP prescriber and has undertaken additional training in men’s and women’s sexual health. She regularly performs Implanon insertions and removals.
She’s also the clinic’s resident HIV and hepatitis B s100 prescriber and is permitted to prescribe highly specialised medications for both conditions.
Outside work, Sophie travels as much as possible, keeps fit, and cooks the occasional family feast. She’s no stranger to occasionally getting lost in a good book.
