Dr Tania Nishimura
BSc, MBBS, FRACGP
After graduating from medicine and building an early career in Sydney, Tania completed her GP training in Broome before settling in Melbourne. She practised in South Yarra in the seven years prior to joining Doctors of South Melbourne – unsurprisingly followed by a long list of loyal patients.
She’s also gained Indigenous health experience in the Kimberly.
Tania now combines practising in South Melbourne with working with adolescents, community health organisations and the occasional locum shift.
Dedicated to her calling, Tania loves every aspect of general practice and has special interests in:
- Chronic and complex health needs
- Women’s health
- Pregnancy planning and shared care
- Child and youth health
- Sexual health
- Travel medicine
She clocks-on to her other job as a mum to three boys at the end of each day. Tania also tries to include a healthy dose of travel, hiking, good cheese and the rare sleep-in at every opportunity.
