Pregnancy Planning and Shared Care
Planning for your child’s birth, whether it be your first or not, should be well considered. A pre-conception visit to your GP is important in helping prepare for a healthy pregnancy.
Your doctor will be by your side throughout this exciting time. From predicting ovulation through to diet and safe vaccinations for your baby, they’ll develop a tailored plan together with you.
Most of our GPs have extra training in shared care (pregnancy care); a hugely popular option for women with low-risk pregnancies. In a nutshell, shared care involves:
- Seeing your favourite GP for most pregnancy checks, with certain visits done at your hospital.
- Flexible appointment times, including after hours and on Saturdays.
- Your baby being delivered at your local public maternity hospital.
- Post-natal care from your GP, who will go on to care for you and your baby.
It’s a joy to help guide mums and dads through this exciting adventure. Take the first step by contacting us for an appointment or simply book online.
